Q) Where do I get Service for my Pertech printer?
A) Pertech has a depot service repair facility for refurbishment and warranty repair.
Products will NOT be accepted by Pertech Resources Service Center without a Returned Material Authorization (RMA). An RMA can be requested by fax at 307-856-0412; by calling our warranty and repair facility at 307-856-4821 Ext. 5027; or by downloading, completing, and returning the RMA form available on the warranty section of this website.
Q) Where can I purchase spare parts for my Pertech printer?
A) Parts can be purchased by calling 307-856-4821 Ext. 5090 Monday - Friday 7:30 - 4:30 MT
Q) Why does my printer print off garbage when I send a print job to it?
A) Check the communication parameters for the printer and the port, they must match, if they do not you will get illegible print. The printer will communicate either Parallel or Serial depending on the model. The default serial communications for generic model printers are set to Baud Rate 9600, Stop Bits 1, Parity None. Some printer models will require dipswitch communication settings to be changed for parallel communications. See your accompanying Owners Manual / Setup Guide for exact details on changing dip switch settings.
Q) My thermal printer will feed the paper but I cannot see any print.
A) Check to make sure that you have the correct thermal paper for your printer.
Thermal paper has a heat sensitive coating on one side that must come in contact with the print head. If the coating is on the wrong side of the paper no print will be legible.
Q) Where can I get parts documentation and manuals for my Pertech printer?
A) You can find Owners Manuals and Set up Guides that are available for download under the Drivers and Downloads section, or in the product catalog next to the product information. Additional resources are available via email- tech_support@pertechresources.com.
