The INK LOW condition will not clear unless the correct Cartridge Installation Procedure is followed.
To clear the INK LOW condition (Blinking Amber LED):
1.Open the front cover and remove the old cartridge.
2. Close the cover.
3. Open the cover and install the new ink cartridge.
Blinking Amber INK LOW condition will clear (LED will turn off).

Pertech has a depot service repair facility for refurbishment and warranty repair.

Check the communication parameters for the printer and the port, they must match, if they do not you will get illegible print. The printer will communicate either Parallel or Serial depending on the model. The default serial communications for generic model printers are set to Baud Rate 9600, Stop Bits 1, Parity None. Some printer models will require dipswitch communication settings to be changed for parallel communications. See your accompanying Owners Manual / Setup Guide for exact details on changing dip switch settings.
Check to make sure that you have the correct thermal paper for your printer.
Thermal paper has a heat sensitive coating on one side that must come in contact with the print head. If the coating is on the wrong side of the paper no print will be legible.
